ENESCO ACQUIRES "CHILDREN OF THE INNER LIGHT®" LICENSE

Itasca, Ill., December 17, 2002 - Enesco Group, Inc. (NYSE: ENC), a leader in the giftware, collectible and home décor industry, today announced the company signed a three-year license agreement with Children of the Inner Light®, Inc.

Children of the Inner Light is a giftware collection based on the work of the artist, Marci. The collection combines black and white drawings of child-like characters with relationship-based, inspirational messages. Since its introduction to the marketplace in 1999, Children of the Inner Light has generated more than $36 million in retail sales.

Under the license agreement, Enesco obtained the worldwide rights to more than a dozen existing Children of the Inner Light product formats, including ceramic mugs, photo frames, votive holders, magnets, gift bags and photo albums. Enesco will begin promoting the line to the specialty retail channel in January 2003. In the second quarter of 2003, Enesco will expand the product offering with approximately 24 new introductions, and introduce the products internationally in Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia.

Children of the Inner Light was created and designed by artist, Marci. Citing her family as her inspiration, Marci began drawing the child-like characters in black and white, then adding inspirational sentiments – messages centered on family and friendship - to her artwork. She began selling her designs from a cart in the local mall in the Baltimore area in 1997. Her artwork became a licensed property in 1999.
